Coach Adrian Harkey begins his fourth season as the varsity women's coach. Coach Harkey was the women's JV coach for five years and was the men's JV coach for two years. Coach Harkey also was the JV head coach and varsity assistant coach for the women's soccer team at Olivet College in 2006. Coach Harkey has taught business and physical education at Marshall High School for eight years after spending one year at Bellevue Middle School. Coach Harkey was originally born in England, grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and lived in Houston,Texas prior to moving to Marshall in 1996. Coach Harkey graduated from the University of Texas in 1984 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and received his teaching certification in business, history and physical education in 2001 from Western Michigan University. Coach Harkey lives in Marshall with his 13 year-old daughter.
Varsity Assistant Ashley Buyce
Ashley will begin her third season as a varsity assistant. Ashley is a 2007 graduate of Portage Central where she played soccer all four years. Ashley was part of the teams that won distiricts all four years and as a junior went to the state finals. Ashley is a senior at Olivet College where she plays soccer and basketball. As a freshman, Ashley was second on the soccer team in goals scored and points and had 3 goals and 2 assists as a sophomore. In basketball, Ashley was voted the team MVP as a freshman. Ashley is majoring in Physical Education and has coached the summer youth camps at Olivet College.
Varsity Assistant Danielle Mellor
Danielle begins her third year as a varsity assistant. Danielle is from Warren where she was a varsity starter for 4 years on the Regina High School soccer team. Danielle reached the state semi-finals during her freshmen year, the regional finals her sophomore year, and the regional semi-finals her senior year. During her senior year, Danielle received an All-County award. Danielle is a junior defender at Olivet College and is a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice and hopes to counsel Juvenile Delinquents.
JV Head Coach Kelly Williams
Coach Williams will be in his third season as JV head coach. Coach Williams was involved with the original soccer program here at Marshall in 1988. He coached the JV boys team for two years from 1988 and 1989 and prior to that Coach Williams was a JV coach in Texas from 1986 to 1987. Coach Williams was the women's varsity assistant in 2007 and has taught Industrial Arts at Marshall High School for twenty-four years.
