GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has named Davenport's Emily Nielsen as its offensive player of the week after the freshman posted two goals in a 4-0 shutout win over Concordia in Ann Arbor.

Emily Nielsen, a freshman forward, has had a stellar year in her first year under head coach Chris Allen.  Nielsen posted two goals on Saturday in a convincing 4-0 win for the Lady Panthers over host Concordia.

The first of her two goals came in the first half to break a 0-0 score when Nielsen scored on a pass from Laken Duchar-Clark.  Emily then added a second goal to her day early in the second half on an unassisted play.

So far in 2010, Nielsen is second on the team in scoring with 13 points.  The freshman has four goals (tied for second on the team) and leads the Lady Panthers with five assists.

Davenport will travel to Upland, IN this Saturday to take on Taylor University in a non-conference matchup with the Trojans.  DU will then travel to Cornerstone next week before finishing their regular season at home against Aquinas College on Saturday, October 30.
